Founded in 2008, Ink & Co. Est 2008 was born out of a passion for arts. Our founder, a skilled artist with over 15 years of experience, wanted to create a studio that focused on quality and creativity.     After Care

    Remember! Your tattoo is not finished until it is totally healed. It is your responsibility to take care of your tattoo(s). Good hygiene and care will reduce the risk of infection, aid healing, and help maintain the colors. To stay updated on the best tattoo care tips, consider signing up for our email list. Below is the recommended healing method to follow. 

    What you'll need

    For optimal care of your tattoo, consider using an aftercare balm like Bepanthen tattoo or Bepanthen for nappy rash. Additionally, we recommend using fragrance-free soap to avoid irritation. 

    Immediate After Care

    Keep the cling wrap applied by your artist for a maximum of 2 hours. After 2 hours, remove the cling wrap and wash the tattoo with lukewarm soapy water (fragrance-free soap) until plasma and excess ink are gone. With clean hands, gently pat the tattoo dry with a paper towel or a clean hand towel, then leave it to air-dry for a couple of minutes. Once dry, apply a sparse amount of aftercare balm, gently rubbing until an even thin layer covers the tattoo. 

    Continued After Care

    Repeat the process below for 10 days to 2 weeks. Each morning and evening, wash the tattoo with lukewarm, fragrance-free soapy water. After you’ve followed these steps, be sure to contact us if you have any questions. Apply aftercare balm twice daily or whenever the tattoo appears dry—whichever comes more often. 

    What To Avoid

    Avoid direct sunlight until your tattoo is fully healed. Only after the tattoo has healed is it safe to apply sunscreen, providing protection against UV rays. It's crucial to protect your tattoo from the sun going forward, using a minimum factor of 50+. 

    During the first two weeks, it's best to avoid soaks in the bath; short showers are preferable. Additionally, refrain from swimming, saunas, hot tubs, and similar activities while your tattoo is healing. 


    It's important to avoid vigorous exercise, sports, and going to the gym during the healing process, as sweat may irritate your tattoo and lead to infection. 


    Please remember, DO NOT pick or scratch the healing tattoo, as it may remove ink. For updates on tattoo care and tips, consider signing up for our email list.

    No. Although, the laws of NSW state otherwise, Ink & Co. Est 2008 has a strict, independent policy against tattooing persons under the age of 18, regardless of whether or not parental consent/permission has been obtained. In our opinion, it is better to wait.
